Marylebone Cricket Club launches magazine

Marylebone County Cricket Club (MCC) is launching a magazine focusing on Lord’s cricket ground. The annual title will feature famous cricketer’s memories of the ground.

The glossy magazine, called The Annual, will be published in partnership with Cedar, publishers of British Airways in-flight magazine BA High Life, Tesco Magazine and Real Holidays.

The launch issue will debut on May 15 at the England v New Zealand Test match and will cost £5. It will be available at all Lord’s cricket matches including Middlesex games and the Friends Provident Trophy final.

The first issue features famous players such as Ryan Sidebottom, James Anderson and Tim Ambrose reminiscing about their first visit to the “spiritual home of cricket”. The editorial will also explore historic “nooks and crannies” of the club and memorable events in the ground’s history.

Lord’s is currently undergoing a £200m redevelopment and it is hoped the magazine will attract new fans and corporate sponsors to the revamped facilities.
