TDA seeks DM agency to drive teacher recruitment

The Training and Development Agency for Schools is seeking a direct marketing agency to support drive to recruitment new teachers. It has already shortlisted four undisclosed agencies to pitch.

The TDA is looking for an agency to create develop direct marketing work for both on and offline channels. The review is being overseen by COI.

The agency will be asked to develop a strategy to increase the registration of “good quality enquirers” to the TDA’s Teaching Information Line, and a contact strategy to ensure serious enquiries are followed up. The campaign is expected to break in October.

A specific requirement of the brief is to target under represented groups such as those with disabilities, black and minority ethnic groups and male primary school applicants.

Mike Berger-North, director of marketing and communications at the TDA says: “We need to recruit around 40,000 people to Initial Teacher Training each year, whilst ensuring that they are of a high standard and representative of the children they teach. The successful direct marketing agency will be a key partner in achieving this.”
