Soup chairman named as Joshua G2 chief exec

G2 EMEA Chairman Peter Thompson has appointed former TBWA/GGT chief executive and Soup chairman Mike Cornwell (pictured) as chief executive of Joshua G2. Thompson will continue in his role as the G2 group chief executive and UK chairman, while joint founder Nick Spinter will step down from day-to-day management.

Spinter, who will step up his consultancy work, will continue to work with the agency on a number of projects, including Allianz Insurance, which it won earlier this month.

Thompson says: “This is a significant appointment for us. Nick and I started the forerunner of Joshua over 20 years ago and we are incredibly proud of the agency’s reputation and client list.”

Joshua G2 is part of WPP-owned Grey Global Group. It won Allianz Insurance’s direct marketing following a four-way pitch. There was no incumbent on the account.
