USwitch names marketing head as part of restructure

USwitch, the price comparison site, has restructured its marketing team as a result of a strategic review. It has promoted Christina Rebollo to its top marketing role as part of the changes.

The site is seeking to develop into new services, such as finance, beyond its core focus of the energy market. It also plans to overhaul its advertising campaign and is expected to drop the “You’ve Got to Switch” strapline.

Rebollo, who previously oversaw PR, has had her role expanded to include resp-onsibility for marketing.

Rebollo says/ “I don’t think that it’s any secret that we have used energy as a gateway product but car insurance and finance are becoming increasingly big.”

The price comparison site will be looking at both its advertising and below-the-line work and it also intends to expand online.

She says uSwitch needs a review to “look at the brand as a whole”, which was very reliant on television. She adds: “We will be looking at whether we want to simplify the brand values.”

USwitch will now be working with its agencies, MCBD and Starcom to promote its lesser-known products.

The company introduced life insurance comparison and financial comparison products earlier this year (MW April 17).
