House of Fraser has appointed Delaney Lund Knox Warren to handle its £9m advertising account following a four-way pitch. It pitched against incumbent Hooper Galton, Adam & Eve and RPM Beechwood.

The brief for the winning agency will be to revitalise the retailer’s brand. It will also include brand campaigns for designer ranges such as Linea Home.

This is the second win for DLKW this week, following its appointment to the £3.5m Mirror advertising business.

The House of Fraser review was led by brand director Matt Chambers, who spent 20 years at Marks & Spencer in commercial and marketing roles. It comes as House of Fraser faces increased competition from rival department stores including John Lewis and M&S (MW February 7).

During his time as M&S head of advertising, the retailer launched the “I’m Normal” campaign, which featured a naked size-16 model running up a hill. Chambers left M&S in 2001.

The House of Fraser was taken private in 2006 by a consortium led by Icelandic investor Baugur.
