Sony Ericsson has extended its sponsorship of the MTV Europe Music Awards with a new two year deal. This year’s ceremony takes place on November 6 in Liverpool.
The deal will include TV, online and mobile content for the awards and Sony Ericsson will seek mobile network operators, retail and service provider partners across the Europe for the first time to extend the sponsorship.
The handset manufacturer will be included in all pan-European marketing and publicity campaigns to support the awards including on-site branding at the Liverpool Echo Arena.
Sony Ericsson head of marketing, says: “Young people are using their mobiles to enjoy music and entertainment more than ever before. The MTV Europe Music Awards partnership is an ideal route to provide our customers with exciting content and access to their favourite music artists.”
Sony Ericsson has previously sponsored the MTV European Music Awards in 2006 and 2007. Viacom Brand Solutions EMEA senior vice president, Jules Robinson says the deal aims to “strengthen and deepen” its relationship with its audience.
