Travelodge launches “one stop shop” website

TravelodgeTravelodge has launched what it claims it the UK’s first one-step hotel website after £1m overhaul of the travelodge.co.uk. The new look site has a new booking system and Google Maps.

The budget hotel chain says it has simplified the booking mechanism with fewer steps and developed an enhanced search facility. It has added Google Maps to help visitors to plan their journey.

The company has also launched “Explore UK”, which shows customers all the key attractions, events, festivals and sporting events in the area they are visiting and allows them to purchase tickets.

Customers are also able to order a discounted breakfast, dinner and WiFi provision online.

The chain is attempting to move a majority of its sales online. Guy Parsons, Travelodge chief operating officer, says: “Over 87% of our room bookings are conducted online and this investment will help attract new consumers.”

Travelodge says the site accounts for more than 5 million reservations each year and attracts over half a million users every week

The new site has been created by Twenty Six London and Sense Internet.
