Marcus Rich (pictured), group managing director of Bauer Advertising and Lifestyle Magazines, is leaving the company following a management restructure. His role will now be scrapped and Bauer Consumer Media chief executive Paul Keenan will take over his responsibilities.

The restructure aims to “simplify” its internal structure of the company to help it remain competitive. Bauer says Rich is leaving by mutual agreement.

Keenan says Rich has been a “key member” of the senior management team.

Rich joined Bauer, formerly known as EMAP, in 1982 as a research manager and later became marketing manager. He left the company in 1985 to join advertising agency McCann Erickson as group account director but returned in 1992 as marketing director for EMAP Images. He became publishing director for EMAP Metro in 1994 before moving to Australia as managing director for the region.

He also had a two year stint in the US as president of EMAP Metro before returning as managing director of FHM Worldwide in 2002. In 2004, he was appointed as managing director of EMAP Performance, which covered the music titles, and a year later took over at EMAP Advertising. He added the Lifestyle Magazines to his remit in 2006.
