Former Saatchi & Saatchi chief executive Lee Daley (pictured) has resurfaced with a series of roles in the digital industry. It includes global consultancy role of software giant Microsoft.

Daley was previously commercial director at Manchester United but left abruptly last year after just four months in the role. He left by “mutual consent” although the reasons for his departure remain unclear.

He has now made a series of investments and taking seats on the boards of a number of new media companies. The companies include Real Time Content, which he has taken a small stake in, which is a technology company that makes software that allows consumers to adapt content in real time. He is also understood to have taken a chairman role at a London-based digital agency although it is not known which one.

Daley has been consulting for Microsoft for the past five months on its MSN service and is also a strategy adviser to Endeavor, a joint venture between US recruitment agency Endeavor and advertising network, IPG. He is also founder and chairman of iqons.com, a social network for the fashion industry.
