Numico brings Euro RSCG into the fold

Euro RSCG has won a place on the roster for baby food company Numico, despite losing out in a competitive pitch against Leo Burnett last year.

The company has started with working with Euros since it was taken over by Danone last year. The acquisition happened in the middle of the review of the company’s £220m global advertising, which was later awarded to Leo Burnett.

It has since invited Euro RSCG Paris to work on projects and it has created a campaign for Cow & Gate, which broke in the UK earlier this week. Leo Burnett created work for milk powder brand Aptamil earlier this year. It is understood that the company intends to continue working with both agencies for the foreseeable future.

Prior to Leo Burnett’s appointment, the business was handled by Ogilvy, which it appointed in 2004. The agency continues to work with the company in Asia.

PHD handles the media business for the account in the UK and has been unaffected by the change in the agency roster.

The Dutch baby food company was acquired by Danone in the middle of last year for an estimated €12.3bn (£9.7bn). The acquisition now gives Danone the biggest share of Europe’s baby-food market.
