LG poaches Sony Ericsson marketer to head UK marketing

LG Electronics has appointed Sony Ericsson marketer Andrew Warner as UK and Ireland marketing director. He will start at the electronics company today (June 16) and work on strengthening brand awareness of the company, reporting to UK president Brian Na.

Warner was previously global director of brand management at Sony Ericsson, where he was involved in repositioning the brand and the global launch of its new identity.

He was also a member of Sony Ericsson’s worldwide marketing leadership team and helped launch a number of products, including its music and imaging devices.

Warner says he will be looking at making the LG brand’s approach “coherent and consistent” and will focus on making it more “accessible” to consumers in UK and Ireland.

LG Electronics’ top marketer Mark Bernard left the company in April after two years (MW April 3). Bernard’s departure was the latest in a series of changes to LG’s marketing department, including the appointment of Jeremy Newing as head of marketing for its mobile division.
