TBWAManchester has won the £10m advertising account for Gocompare.com, the insurance comparison website. The appointment follows against a four undisclosed agencies and EHS Brann Cirencester, which has been working with the site on a project basis.

TBWAManchester has been briefed to develop all brand communications for Gocompare.com. It will also replace the current strapline “Why Gocompare anywhere else?” with “Gocompare it”.

Gocompare.com began looking for an agency a year ago, and appointed EHS Brann Cirencester last August. It is believed the company decided to brief the winning agency with a television project and if successful, hand it the entire account.

Gocompare.com marketing director Nicholas Hall says TBWA Manchester will focus on reinforcing the company’s market position in an increasingly competitive sector.

Mediaedge:cia, which won Gocompare.com’s media planning and buying business last year, is not affected by the change.
