EHS Brann wins npower direct marketing account

Npower, the utility company, has appointed EHS Brann Group to handle the direct marketing business for its residential division. It is understood the account is worth about £1m.

The agency won the business following a pitch against Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw, Craik Jones Watson Mitchell Voelkel, Geronimo and Entire. There was no incumbent on the account.

EHS Brann will create a programme of DM activity to support the utility provider’s ongoing campaign to build its customer base. It is expected that future campaigns will be integrated, and will include online and print DM as well as above-the-line work.

Npower channel marketing manager Neil Hodgetts says the company aims to improve its sales and customer engagement through its direct marketing.

The utility company moved its head of customer marketing, Kevin Peake to the new role of marketing director for npower Retail at the end of last month. Peake now manages the company’s business-to-consumer and business-to-business marketing in the UK.

Npower has come under fire after its sales teams were accused of mis-selling to consumers. Ofgem is currently investigating the company for over-charging its customers by up to £25 per person. In May, it was also named Britain’s worst utility for customer service by energy watchdog Energywatch.

EHS Brann Group is part of the Euro RSCG 4D network that also includes Euro RSCG 4D Digital and EHS Brann Discovery.
