Press Holdings Media appoints former Emap chief

Press Holdings Media Group has bought in former Emap Construction chief Ben Greenish as managing director in a move that will see chief executive Andrew Neil become chairman.

The changes follow the resignation of Paul Woolfenden, group general manager of PHMG, in May to pursue new opportunities.

Greenish, who will take over the role on September 1, will take over the day-today running of the commercial activities of PHMG and be responsible for the P&L of the business. He will report to Neil.

PHMG publishes The Spectator, Spectator Business and Apollo. All editors will also continue to report to Neil in his role as editor-in-chief of the group.

Neil says: “He [Greenish] joins us at a time of continued growth and success: Spectator advertising revenues were almost 10% up year-on-year in the first half of 2008.

“But there is much more to do, both with our core brand and strategy of brand extension.”

Greenish most recently worked at Emap, overseeing the merger of two divisions and the re-launch of a number of products.

The changes in Neil’s role come a month after he led a group of investors in the acquisition of talent agency, PFD.
