McDonalds promotes Woreczek to brand strategy VP

McDonald’s has promoted Pierre Woreczek to senior vice-president brand stratgy. He was previously corporate vice-president and chief brand and strategy officer.

The fast food chain says his promotion “recognises” his involvement in developing its European food strategy, the recent refurbishment of its European restaurants and its marketing. He has also recently added sustainability to his portfolio of responsibilities.

Woreczek has been with McDonald’s for a total of ten years in two five-year stints. He also spent two years at Cadbury France.

He says: “I am delighted to accept this role. With such a unique level of success and many fresh challenges, I look forward to being part of McDonald’s continued growth in Europe.”

In June, McDonald’s announced that global comparable sales were up by 7.7% during May and 7% in the year to date. Sales in Europe were up by 9.6% over the month with the UK, France and Russia noted for delivering particularly strong sales.
