Sony invites agencies to pitch for global Bravia TV account

Sony is reported to be planning to appoint a global agency for its Bravia TV brand, which is handled by Fallon Worldwide in Europe. It is understood that the Japanese consumer electronics giant has invited WPP Group-owned Berlin Cameron United, Crispin Porter + Bogusky and 180 to pitch.

The move comes despite Fallon creating three high profiles for the brand in Europe, which are credited with driving the its success in the region. The “Balls” (pictured), “Paint” and play-doh bunnies ads have been widely praised.

It is understood that Sony is seeking an agency to create a global campaign that will drive sales elsewhere although it is thought that it would up to individual regions to decide whether to use the ads. It is not thought that the appointment would affect Fallon’s hold the Sony business in Europe, which is has handled since 2002. A decision is due early next month.
