Bauer promotes Serle to commerical chief

Adrian Serle, currently Bauer Advertising radio sales director, has been promoted to the new role of commercial development director. He will lead a number of cross media teams across Bauer Consumer Media and Bauer Radio.

Searle, who will report to BCM chief marketer Andria Vidler, takes over the role on July 21 and will be responsible for project management, Bauer_, Enterprise, TV S&P and trade marketing. BCM says the move underlines its commitment to “putting it creative multi-platform commercial and audience insight teams at the heart of the business.”

BCM chief executive, Paul Keenan, says: “By simplifying our structure and bringing a marketing-led, collaborative and creative approach to how our teams deliver innovative brand-led commercial solutions, we can fully-exploit our market advantages.”

Adrian joined Bauer, then Emap, in 2000 as sales director for Sheffield station Hallam FM and, in 2004, was made managing director of Kerrang! 105.2. He was appointed to lead radio sales in March last year and was responsible for reshaping the sales teams to be more audience focussed.

Meanwhile, TIML, the new owner of Virgin Radio, has appointed Chris Lawson as brand director. He joins from BCM, where he has been responsible for digital marketing strategy across TV, mobile and the internet.

The appointment comes just days after the departures of David Lloyd, programming and marketing director, and Andy Grumbridge, digital director, as part of a restructure of the management team. The digital and marketing teams have been merged and will be led by Lawson.
