Aegis Media UK chief executive Nigel Sharrocks has been promoted to head of Northern Europe as part of a series of changes at the group. Sharrocks will now be responsible for the Netherlands and the Nordics in addition to his existing role.

The company has also promoted Marie-Laure Sauty de Chalon, currently head of Aegis France, as chief executive for Southern Europe. Jose Luis de Rojas, head of Aegis Media Iberia, has had Latin America added to his brief.

They have also been promoted to the Aegis Media Global Executive, the strategy-setting and decision-making board, alongside Andreas Bolte, chief executive for Central and Eastern Europe.

Meanwhile, the company has also promoted Malcolm Hunter, head of communications planning, as its first chief client strategy officer. The company says the new role aims to “reflect the importance” of communications planning across the company.

Jerry Buhlmann, chief executive of Aegis Media, says: “The new regional responsibilities are a natural move, and they reflect the balance of our business, with each cluster having critical mass and sharing some important cultural and market dynamics.”
