MPG has scooped the £11m media planning and buying business for Bmi. The appointment follows a competitive pitch against Walker Media and incumbent Phd.
M&C Saatchi is tipped to win the airline’s advertising account in a separate pitch against Adam & Eve and Beattie McGuinness Bungay. Bmi says the pitch is in its final stages and a decision is imminent. The account was previously held by Euro RSCG declined to repitch.
Phd has retained the media and planning account for Bmibaby, BMi’s low-cost sister brand, a decision on the company’s creative business is also outstanding.
Earlier this month, Bmi appointed Katherine Gershon as interim marketing director. Gershon joined from defunct airline Silverjet, where she was sales and marketing director. She replaced Andrew Duffy who left at the end of June to join Wyndham Hotels Group as vice president or marketing international (mw.co.uk 3 July).
