Dow Jones beefs up Consumer Media Group management team

Dow Jones, the business publisher, is strengthening its Consumer Media Group with a series of new appointments. It has promoted Tony Gibson to deputy managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa and Tracey Lehane takes over the new role of commercial director for the Wall Street Journal Europe.

Gibson, who was previously chief executive and publisher of eFinancialNews, will have direct responsibility over all revenue generating areas at Dow Jones publications The Wall Street Journal Europe, Financial News, Financial News Online and Private Equity News.

He will oversee print and online advertising, business publishing, business development, conferences and events, and will report to Michael Bergmeijer, managing director, CMG EMEA (pictured).

Gibson joined Dow Jones when it acquired eFinancialNews in May last year.

Meanwhile, Lehane, senior advertising group head at Dow Jones International, has moved into the role of commercial director for The Wall Street Journal Europe, reporting to Gibson.

Lehane will take on responsibility for all advertising sales, marketing and product development for the WSJ Europe, as well as managing the relationship with the publication’s global advertising sales organisation.
