JWT creative chief to step down

Craig Davis, the worldwide chief creative officer at JWT, is stepping down from his role to head back to his native Australia. He is expected to leave next year.

Davis will remain in the role while the network searches for a replacement. In an internal email sent by Bob Jeffrey (pictured), JWT worldwide chief executive, says discussions with Davis about his planned departure began last year and culminated when Davis and his wife made the decision to head back to Sydney after having lived overseas for more than ten years.

He says in the email: “We have Craig to thank for four years of impressive new business growth, strong talent and a shift in overall creative reputation.”

Davis has been in the role since January 2005, after having overseen chief creative duties for JWT’s Europe, Middle East and Africa offices. Prior to that he was the lead creative at Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore.
