Walker Media triumphs in Health Lottery 8m media account pitch

Walker Media has won the £8m media planning and buying account for the launch of the Health Lottery. The appointment comes after a three-way pitch against MindShare and ZenithOptimedia.

The news comes days after Delaney Lund Knox Warren (DLKW) was tipped to win the advertising account for the new lottery, after Vallance Carruthers Coleman Priest (VVCP) dropped out of the pitch leaving only DLKW in the running (MW 17 July).

The Health Lottery, as it has become known, is a new lottery-style game, which, it is understood, will donate money to health-related charitable causes.

The enterprise is headed by former Camelot commercial chief Ian Milligan (pictured), who is thought to be planning an autumn launch. The company does not yet have a licence to operate a lottery but applied for one in June. The Gambling Commission says it is possible for a licence to be awarded with two months of application.
