Saatchi & Saatchi head of creative for Toyota, Richard Russell, is leaving the agency to join Nitro as executive creative director. The appointment is just the latest in a string of new hires made by the agency.

Russell joined Saatchi & Saatchi earlier this year, after having previously worked at Ogilvy Advertising since 2004. Prior to his role there, he worked at Wieden & Kennedy.

The appointment closely follows Bobby Hui joining Nitro as executive planning director earlier this month. He has also been charged with helping Nitro managing director Kate Howe (pictured) drive the growth of its UK office. He was previously international planning director at Saatchi & Saatchi.

This coincided with Jason Coward, the former managing director of WCRS, joining as executive business growth director.

The two appointments followed the exit of the agency’s global executive creative director Paul Shearer and managing director Johan Fourie to set up Arnold in the UK.

Last month, former chief financial officer and worldwide commercial director, Damien O’Donohoe, joined Nitro as global chief financial operator, based initially in London.
