Christian Aid chief decidesto leave after restructure

Christian%20AidChristian Aid’s chief marketer, Jeff Dale, is leaving the charity following a restructure of the charity’s marketing team. He will leave in September to “pursue other projects”.

It is understood that Dale, who is head of marketing and supporter relations at the charity, decided to leave after declining to take up any new roles on offer following the restructure.

The charity launched a strategic review of its marketing structure following the departure of Kate Phillips, marketing and communications director, last December.

Phillips, who led the charity’s communications for 12 years, had been at Christian Aid for 30 years, starting as editor of the charity’s newsletter in 1977. The marketing team was moved into the support and relations department after her departure.

Last week, it appointed former Downing Street aide Jude MacKenzie to associate director of advocacy and communications. The charity says it is gearing up to increase its fundraising and communications output.

Last month, the charity launched a youth brand called Ctrl.Alt.Shift, which aims to recruit 18- to 25-year- olds to become “outspoken aggregators” for global issues.
