Future reports 39% leap in online revenue

Future, the special interest media group, has reported that online revenue has shot by 39% over the nine months to June 30. It comes as the group reports a 1% increase in profit and a 4% increase in overall advertising revenue.

The increase means that online sales now account for 19% of Future’s total advertising revenue. It adds that the UK accounts for 71% of its revenue with the US generating 19%.

In June, Future launched Qore, a new digital magazine for Sony US across the PlayStation 3 Network, and it claims that it has attracted a very strong interest from advertisers in its first three editions.

Future chief executive, Stevie Spring, says: “We have continued to make good progress during the third quarter of our financial year – particularly in digital development.

“While the market remains tough, Future is proving resilient and we remain firmly on track for a satisfactory outturn for the full year.”

Future will provide a pre-close update during the last week of September and will announce its annual results for the year to September 30, 2008, on November 26.
