Halifax has re-appointed incumbent Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners to its £18m retail advertising account. It won the business following a final shootout against DDB.

TBWA and Fallon were also on the shortlist, but were knocked out at an earlier stage. DLKW has held the account for eight years and was responsible for creating the “Staff as stars” campaign fronted by brand ambassador “Howard”.

It is understood that the financial services company is also reviewing its direct marketing business which is estimated to be worth around £10m.

Halifax last reviewed its DM account at the end of 2006.Its media agency Vizeum remains unaffected by the change.
DLKW’s retention of the Halifax account also closely follows its win of the Health Lottery advertising account following a pitch against WCRS and Vallance Carruthers Coleman Priest.

The announcement of the Halifax ad pitch in April came just days after DLKW lost the AA account.
