Freesat to hold advertising business pitch

Freesat, the free-to-air digital service launched by ITV and BBC, is seeking an advertising agency. It is understood that it has already started approaching agencies.

The pitch, which is being overseen by Creativebrief, follows the appointment of MPG to its media planning and buying account and Agency Republic to handle its digital advertising. It also works with Billington Cartmell.

The service was launched earlier this year after receiving the green light from the BBC Trust last April. It offers viewers over 80 digital TV and radio channels, including high definition, such as BBC Three and Four, ITV 2 and 3 and Film4 and More4.

Fallon created a launch campaign for the service, which ran across print and outdoor in May. It is not known if the agency is involved in the current pitch. Freesat is also thought to be seeking a direct marketing agency although it is not clear if that pitch is ongoing.
