Glasses Direct signs up as first Platform-A customer

AOL’s Platform-A has announced that Glasses Direct is its first customer. Glasses Direct will use two of Platform-A’s advertising solutions in a campaign aimed at increasing its brand awareness.

The move is understood to follow the appointment of Kevin Cornils, outgoing Advertising.com UK managing director, as chief executive of Glasses Direct.

The online retailer has booked CPA (cost-per-acquisition) marketing on two Platform-A advertising networks, the ad network Advertising.com and affiliate network buy.at. Advertising.com will manage the display advertising campaign for Glasses Direct through targeted activity on Advertising.com’s extensive network of third-party publisher sites. Consumers who have visited Glasses Direct but have not made a purchase will be retargeted through the network.

Advertising through Platform-A’s buy.at will focus on increasing Glasses Direct’s brand recognition and pushing sales through a range of affinity sites, voucher affiliates, search affiliates and niche content affiliates managed by buy.at.

The advertising, produced by Universal McCann Birmingham, features imagery of glasses and a call-to-action to click through and buy online.
