Coke appoints former AT&T marketing chief

Coca-Cola has appointed former AT&T marketer Wendy Clark as senior vice president of integrated marketing communications and capabilities. She will take over the role on September 15.

Coca-Cola has appointed former AT&T marketer Wendy Clark as senior vice president of integrated marketing communications and capabilities. She will take over the role on September 15.

She will be responsible for helping to build and “deliver marketing capabilities across brands, geographies and customers,” according to a memo sent to employees by Coke’s chief marketing and commercial officer Joseph Tripodi.

Tripodi says it will include the use of traditional and new marketing channels “to help transform our thinking to true integrated marketing communications”.

Clark will take over from Mark Greatrex, who will has been doing the role alongside his responsibilities as senior vice president of still beverages at Coke, since the beginning of the year.

Tripodi says that Clark will “lead our global work” in a number of areas including creative excellence, design, interactive marketing, marketing capabilities, marketing productivity, media, retail and licensing, and worldwide sports and entertainment.

In her position as senior vice president of advertising at AT&T, she was responsible for rebranding the telecoms company and creating the “Your World Delivered” campaign.
