Twinings has appointed Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO, WCRS and Adam & Eve to handle its advertising. It is understood to come ahead of a major boost in ad spend by the hot beverages company from £3m to about £12m.

The company has appointed Adam & Eve to handle Twinings Everyday, which is being relaunched; WCRS to handle Ovaltine and Options; and AMV.BBDO to handle speciality tea, green tea and infusions.

The pitch was called in April, ending its two-and-a-half-year relationship with Lowe London. The agency declined to repitch for the business.

Twinings marketing director, Claire Hodge, says: “Our review has been an exciting and collaborative process and all agencies will bring something very valuable to the table. We’re very much looking forward to working with each other to develop strategic and creative work in what will be a new era for the Twinings brand.”
