Bebo appoints Google marketer as expansion chief

Bebo has appointed Nicole Vanderbilt, head of industry marketing at Google, as its new head of international expansion. She will take over the role later this week.

Vanderbilt, who will be based in London, will be responsible for driving Bebo’s business and membership internationally, initially focusing on France, Spain, Italy and Germany and the Netherlands.

She will also oversee marketing to businesses and trade organisations across Europe, and eventually in Asia and Africa.

Her appointment follows Kate Burns joining Bebo as its new European managing director last month.

Joanne Shields, chief executive of Bebo, says Vanderbilt is “an ideal candidate” to drive Bebo’s expansion in key international markets.”

Bebo is already used by over 11.9 million users in the UK and has around 45 million users worldwide.
