Lastminute.com appoints head of marketing

Lastminute.com has appointed former marketing director of dating website Match.com Abbie Cranage as its head of marketing. She replaces Fleur Studd who is leaving the company to return to Australia.

Cranage will step into her role on September 25 and will be responsible for the strategic planning, budgeting and delivery of all consumer activity across travel and lifestyle categories for Lastminute.com.

She has also been charged with developing a marketing plan to reinvigorate the website’s positioning and brand personality.

The announcement signals the second major marketing appointment made by the company this year after Julie Davidson was brought in as UK marketing director in March. Cranage will report to Davidson.

Last month the company launched a mobile restaurant booking service to allow users to search and book venues on the go. Fonefood was launched in 12 countries, including the UK, on August 14.
