Thresher Group appoints Krow to 2m ad account

Thresher Group, the off-license retail chain, has appointed Krow Communications and Media Planning Group to handle its £2m advertising and media accounts. The agencies won the business after a final pitch against Albion and BJK&E.

A review of the accounts, which was overseen by the AAR, was called in July after the chain’s previous agency, Poulters, was closed down. The media was previously handled by Arena BLM.

Poulters was closed down by parent company Bezier earlier this year as part of a restructure (MW.co.uk June 5).

Thresher operates Threshers, the Local, Victoria Wine, Bottoms Up, Wine Rack and, in Scotland, Haddows. Last year, the chain was acquired by a consortium of private equity groups led by Terra Firm. It later sold a 75% interest to private equity group Vision Capital.
