Daily Mail launches discount fashion webstore

The Daily Mail has launched a branded discount fashion store on its website today (September 15). It has been created in association with online fashion retailer, koodos.com.

The Daily Mail Fashion Boutique has been integrated into the newspaper’s website and claims to offer clothing and accessories at savings of up to 70% compared to other retailers.

The publisher says its approach differs from similar e-commerce services launched by its rivals because consumers can complete the transaction on the Daily Mail site and are not redirected to a retailer.

The launch of the service will target shoppers trying to save money in the wake of the credit crunch. Products will be a mix of ranges sourced exclusively for the Fashion Boutique, as well as items selected from the koodos website.

Sacha Newall, Daily Mail promotions manager, says: “Our readers are affluent but savvy and love a fashion bargain. They look to us for fashion advice and offers and launching an online store was an obvious development.”
