K&S Holidays, the travel company specialising in Turkish holidays, has gone into administration. The company collapsed on Saturday (September 13) just a day after XL Leisure (pictured), the UK’s third largest holiday operator, went bust.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said K&S ceased trading on Saturday night, leaving 150 passengers in Bodrum, Turkey, requiring alternative flights.

K&S Holidays is based in North London and specialises in package tours to the Turkish mainland. The travel company also trades under the name Travel Turkey.

The company has assured customers that it will be “organising for those people affected to complete their holiday as planned and come back to the UK”.

The CAA has confirmed that holidaymakers were covered by the Atol (Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing) protection scheme.

It is understood that approximately 460 holidaymakers with a future booking with K&S Holidays will have to make different arrangements, but they will be entitled to a total refund under the Atol scheme.

The collapse of XL on Friday has left thousands of holidaymakers stranded abroad the company blamed rising fuel prices and poor economic conditions for its failure.
