DMGT in management restructure

The Daily Mail and General Trust is planning to merge the management teams of its national and regional newspaper businesses under a new unit known as A & N Media. The changes will see group managing director of Associated Newspapers Kevin Beatty, move into a wider role.

Beatty will become chief executive of A&N Media in addition to his current position. Michael Pelosi will remain managing director of Northcliffe Media.†

It is unclear at this stage when the management restructure will come into effect and how other roles will be changed. In a statement, the publisher says the combined management would aim to help achieve greater efficiencies for the newspapers.

“A & N Media will continue to deliver all its consumer newspaper and digital brands through Associated Newspapers Ltd and Northcliffe Media Ltd, while realising the efficiencies that this combination brings about,” the statement says.

Associated Newspapers is the publisher of the Daily Mail, Evening Standard, Metro and London Lite. Northcliffe Media publishes regional titles including the Nottingham Post, Bristol Evening Post and the Leicester Mercury.
