GPS technology company appoints UK launch senior

Zoombak, a company manufacturing GPS technology, has appointed Dawn Stockell as senior marketing manager ahead of its official UK launch next month.

Stockell joins from Electrolux Major Appliances, where she spent over five years as brand and marketing manager.

She will be charged with leading the US company’s marketing communications strategy. Her first task will be to develop and implement an above-the-line campaign to drive awareness of Zoombak in the UK.

The company creates portable GPS locators which can be used to locate missing pets, stolen cars or enable parents to monitor the whereabouts of their children or elderly relatives.

Stockell will report to the company’s senior vice-president of European operations, Craig Woodward, who joined from mobile accessories company Parrot earlier this year to lead the European roll-out.

Zoombak is currently working with Universal McCann as its media agency, and radio advertising agency Radioville has been appointed to create an audio campaign as part of its launch.

It is believed Zoombak, a privately held subsidiary of Liberty Media, is also working with a number of other agencies and has a launch marketing budget of £1.5m.
