Destination Devon, the tourism body for the seaside county, has appointed integrated marketing agency Space to create a campaign to encourage more people to visit the region.
The agency hopes to encourage more tourists to the area by using “passionate locals” in its ads. Space says it is currently searching for people represent the county as brand ambassadors for tourism.
It will shortlist suitable candidates, who will then go head-to-head in a bid to generate interest in the campaign. The overall winner who generates the most “media value” for Devon at the end of the campaign will be awarded a cash prize.
Nicola Poultney, marketing manager at Destination Devon, says: “While Devon is obviously well known as a summer holiday destination, we need to drive awareness of the vast amount the county has to offer from luxurious and relaxing breaks to bracing activity holidays to suit every taste, at any time of year.”
