Independent research chief leaves

Dominic Bean, head of commercial marketing and research at Independent News & Media, is leaving to take on a new role at online survey company, eDigitalResearch. He is expected to leave the publisher next month.

Dominic Bean, head of commercial marketing and research at Independent News & Media, is leaving to take on a new role at online survey company, eDigitalResearch. He is expected to leave the publisher next month.

Bean will take on the role of new business development as eDigital, which specialises in online surveys. The publisher has yet to appoint a replacement.

His expected departure follows a number of changes at the company this year. Commercial director Simon Barnes left in May and was replaced by Daryl Fielding, previously managing partner at Ogilvy Advertising.

Marketing and circulation director David Greene also left after ten years with the company. His role has since been scrapped after INK decided to appoint communications agency Freud to handle it marketing.

In April this year Simon Kelner, editor of The Independent was role was filled by Roger Alton, the former editor of The Observer.
