PartyGaming names marketing head

PartyGaming, the online gaming group, has appointed Jon Salmon as chief marketing officer. Salmon will join from Ads Dot Com next month. He replaces Sabic Brooks, who is leaving the company after three and a half years. It is not known if Brooks has a role to go to.

Salmon, who will report to chief executive Jim Ryan, will oversee the marketing of brands including PartyPoker.com, one of the world’s biggest online poker rooms, EmpirePoker.com, PartyCasino.com, PartyBingo.com, PartyGammon.com, PartyBets.com, PartyMarkets.com and Gamebookers.com.

PartyGaming was the world’s largest online poker brand although its total number of active players has diminished with the loss of its US customers. It suspended all real money gaming business with US customers in October 2006 after the US Congress passed anti-gambling legislation.

Salmon was managing director and founder of Ads Dot Com, which is owned by Cryptologic. Previously, he has worked at companies and brands including Ladbrokes, Allied Bakeries, Argos and Weight Watchers, where he was responsible for launching the diet company’s Breakfast Bar.
