Telegraph Media Group has reported a 4.9% increase in operating profit to £34.3m in 2007. Turnover for the publishing group also increased by 4% last year to £354.9m.

In other results, Audit Bureau of Circulations figures for its flagship title The Daily Telegraph fell to 890,950 last year, compared with 901,409 a year earlier.

A new printing agreement to provide all its newspapers with full colour on every page cost TMG £23.8m.

In line with the trend among all publishers, TMG says it will continue its strategy for a “digital future” and will further integrate its print and digital operations.

This year, TMG has invested heavily in redesigning and relaunching its website.

“Print advertising is now supplemented online, as advertisers demand multimedia solutions to creative briefs, while there is continuing pressure across the industry on the print circulation volumes, as readers seek news from an increasing variety of sources,” according to a TMG directors’ report.
