Specialist insurer Hiscox has appointed VCCP to handle its advertising business, following a competitive pitch against Lunar BBDO, in partnership with digital agency Weapon 7.
Incumbent Inferno, an integrated ad agency, was not in the final pitch list.
VCCP will be briefed to execute advertising, direct marketing and digital campaigns for the insurer. The appointment is not expected to affect the media planning and buying handled by Tri-Direct.
Hiscox’s marketing activities include toolkits containing press ads, postcards and banner ads that help brokers promote its business.
The company offers customised insurance for marketing, advertising, design and communications agencies. It is known for its innovative schemes, including cover in case of a kidnapping.
Last week, the insurer announced a strategic partnership with the Congregational & General Insurance. The partnership will start with a co-insurance arrangement for Congregational’s household accounts.
The Hiscox group is based in Bermuda, but largely operates out of London.
The group operates under three main divisions – Hiscox Global Markets, Hiscox International and Hiscox UK and Europe.
