Dennis acquires photography magazine

Dennis Publishing has acquired monthly magazine, Digital SLR Photography. It marks the first time the publisher has brought a photography title into its fold.

The magazine and its accompanying website, will sit within its technology portfolio which includes PC Pro, Computer Shopper, itpro.co.uk and iGizmo.

Launched in 2006, Digital SLR Photography currently has an unaudited circulation of over 20,000 and is distributed via newsstand and subscription.

The independently-owned magazine is positioned as “the magazine by photographers for photographers” and provides readers with photography product news, reviews, tips and advice.

The current editorial and advertising team of eight, which includes co-founder and editor Daniel Lezano, will be absorbed into Dennis Publishing but will remain in their premises in Peterborough.

The team will report into John Garewal, deputy managing director of Dennis Publishing’s technology division.

Lezano says: “The expertise and resources that Dennis has in key areas such as marketing, distribution and subscriptions will ensure we can accelerate the growth in readership.”
