Disney and MSN sign first Euro new media deal

Microsoft and Disney-ABC-ESPN Television have announced their first European new media content deal. It will include two short-form comedy series from Disney’s Stage 9 Digital Media.

UK visitors to the MSN UK homepage will be able to view comedy series Squeegees from today (October 13). The show is a voyeur’s look into the world outside his window and Voicemail, which aims to offer an insight into the life of a 20-something male slacker and his collection of phone messages, will follow at an as yet unconfirmed date.

Geoff Sutton, general manager of MSN Europe, says: “People are changing the way they consume media – they love the way they can snack on content online and spend time with quick-fix entertainment just like Squeegees and Voicemail that we’re offering as part of today’s announcement. This type of content helps us create even more engagement between our audience and advertisers.”

After its debut in the UK, Squeegees will be made available in France, Germany, Spain and Sweden.
