RAF uses Bauer Media for recruitment drive

The Royal Air Force is targeting 16- to 24-year-olds through a major recruitment campaign across a number of Bauer Media brands.

The campaign, which is through COI, aims to recruit men and women for personnel administrator roles and will run across TV, print, online and radio through a range of brands including Zoo, More!, Heat, Kerrang! and 4Music.

The ads, which break this week, will feature the experiences of former Hollyoaks stars Darren Jeffries and Matt Littler, who spent a week taking part in specialist training tasks.

The print work will take in editorial content including the experience of the actors and comments from RAF mentors. The radio and television brands will broadcast the tasks undertaken by Jeffries and Littler during their training.

The digital execution of the campaign will see Bauer Media’s recruitment site Workmoose promote the RAF roles as “Job of the Week”. A microsite will also feature footage of the celebrities’ experiences and a link to the RAF’s recruitment websites.

COI senior integration manager Nigel Wheat says: “We anticipate this activity will generate a high number of enquiries about the roles.”

Last month, RAF promoted its career opportunities with roadshows through experiential agency BEcause.
