Aardman launches second YouTube channel

Aardman Animations, the studio behind the Wallace and Gromit series, is launching a branded channel on YouTube called Aardman’s Darkside. It will feature the company’s more-surreal comedies and shorts.

It follows the launch earlier this month of its first YouTube branded channel which features clips from family favourites including Wallace and Gromit: Cracking Contraptions, Creature Comforts and Morph.

The new Darkside channel will feature programmes such as Rex the Runt, The Adventures of Jeffrey, A Town Called Panic and Angry Kid (pictured).

Patrick Walker, YouTube director of video partnerships for Europe, Middle East and Africa, says: “Aardman brought to life some of the most memorable characters in the history of animation, and now YouTube users can enjoy Aardman’s videos again and again.

“The community tools on YouTube will also give Aardman valuable feedback from around the world, helping them determine what to upload next based on user demand.”

Similar clips are also available on other platforms such as the iPlayer and Joost.
