The Dove ProAge Women’s Own Awards will offer cash bursaries to help women “fulfil their ambitions” or celebrate existing achievements. It will over £11,000 in prize money

Women can nominate themselves, friends or family and the winners will be chosen by a judging panel led by TV presenter, Trisha Goddard. There are five categories including Woman of the Year and Triumphing in the Face of Adversity.

The five-month initiative will be supported in the magazine and online, and there will also be a direct email to the IPC-owned magazine’s database.

The competition has been developed following research by Dove ProAge, which found that two thirds of women believe that society’s ageist view of women is preventing them from achieving their goals. The survey was carried out by Redshift.
