FHM to run Sony Ericsson ad shot using C905 phone

Sony Ericsson has signed a deal with men’s magazine FHM to create an advertorial campaign entirely shot using the new Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot handset. The ads will run in the December 2008 issue of FHM, to target the Christmas shopping season.

The handset manufacturer claims it is the first time a mobile handset’s capabilities have been demonstrated using magazine advertorials. It aims to show that the C905’s camera is as good as an ordinary digital camera.

Bauer Media, the publisher of FHM, says it developed the idea of testing the product of testing the camera for a photography shoot, and bought in a fashion photographer to take the pictures.

The C905 Cyber-shot handset comes with an eight megapixel flash camera, capable of taking large high-resolution images. It also includes integrated satellite navigation. The new model was launched last week, and is available exclusively on O2.
