Junction appoints new marketing chief

Junction, the insurance company, has appointed Matthew Gledhill as marketing director. He has worked for Junction’s parent group, BGL Group, since 2001.

Gledhill has previously worked as marketing director for the group’s Budget business. In 2002, he was appointed to the role of managing director for Bennetts bike insurance, where he was credited for delivering “significant growth” in market share and profit contribution.

In his new role, which is due to commence soon, he will report to Junction managing director Peter Thompson.

Junction was formed in 2002 and is now responsible for home and motor insurance for the Post Office, M&S Money, HSBC and Auto Trader. It says its is currently “in negotiations” to provide insurance services for “a number of other major brands”.

The BGL Group was established in 1992 and has 2.2 million customers. It has call centres in Peterborough, Coventry, Sunderland, Peterlee and Cape Town, South Africa.

Gledhill’s appointment is part of the company’s “ambitious plans for the future”, which will involve developing the Junction business and supporting marketing plans for existing partners.
