Nestl» has appointed Terri Tinella as UK marketing director for its confectionery division. It follows the promotion of David Rennie earlier this year.

Tinella joins the UK division from Nestl» Canada, where she is currently senior vice president for communications and marketing effectiveness. She will take over the role in January when Rennie starts in his new position and Paul Grimwood, former managing director, will become chief executive of Nestl» UK & Ireland.

The restructure was prompted by the departure of Alistair Sykes, currently chief executive of Nestl», who is standing down at the end of this year. He will remain with Nestl» as non-executive chairman until the end of 2009.

Grimwood, who previously ran its UK petcare division, was appointed as UK chief executive in November 2005 to replace Chris White, who held the role for just two years. Rennie joined in August 2005 from Procter & Gamble (MW July 6, 2005).
